BEDMINSTER CRICKET CLUB CONSTITUTION
  1. MANAGEMENT OF THE CLUB
    1. A Committee composed of the Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretaries, Treasurers, Captains, Cricket Development Officer, Head Youth Team Coach, Groundsman, Assistant Groundsman, Fund Raising Officer, Health and Safety Officer, Ticket Officer, Youth Team Managers, plus 2 committee members, shall be elected annually to be called the Management Committee (six to form a quorum ) with power to temporarily fill vacancies in their body until the AGM or EGM of the Club.
    2. The Chairman of the Club shall be Chairman of all Committees.
    3. A statement of accounts shall be submitted at all Management Committee Meetings.
    4. A cricket report shall be submitted at all Management Committee Meetings.
    5. A Management Committee Meeting shall be called by the Secretary at intervals of no greater than six weeks.
    6. The financial year of the club shall end on October 31st annually.
    7. The Youth Team Committee shall comprise the Chairman, Vice-Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer, Head Youth Coach, Youth Team Managers, and Captains when available.
    8. The Management Committee must ensure a duty of care to all members of the association by adopting and implementing the “ECB Safe Hands-Welfare of Young People In Cricket” policy and any future versions of the policy.
    9. The Management Committee shall oversee a Ground Rota, 4 players to be nominated per week to support preparation of the ground for weekend matches and sub-lets. Failure to comply will be taken into account by the Selection Committee. Where necessary the Selection Committee should seek guidance from the Management Committee.
    10. As regards the game, the MCC Rules shall be rules of the Club.
  2. MEMBERS
    1. The following shall be members of the club: Elected Members, Playing Members; Vice Presidents; Honorary Life Members: Social Members; Lady Members.
    2. Membership is open to all and no application for membership will be refused on other than reasonable grounds. There will be no discrimination on grounds of race, occupation, sex, age, ability, religion, and political or other opinion. The Club will create the opportunity for all individuals to utilise the facilities and be supported by Bedminster Cricket Club. The club will endeavour to encourage and support all in their participation in cricket
    3. A list of members shall be posted in the pavilion and those who have paid their fees shall be marked as “Received” by the Treasurer. The Management Committee shall be empowered to erase from the list the name of any member who has not paid their annual subscription by the AGM, and any such member shall not be eligible for membership of the club until all arrears have been paid in full.
    4. Any player being selected for a match and unable to play MUST notify the team captain at the earliest possible moment. In the event of no explanation being forthcoming by the next Selection Committee Meeting, it will be deemed that the player is ineligible for selection for the following match.
    5. The management committee shall have the right to expel any member who shall offend against the rules of the Club or whose conduct shall in the opinion of the management committee render the member unfit for membership of the Club. Before any such member is expelled, the Secretary shall give the member seven days written notice to attend a meeting of the management committee and shall inform the member of the complaints against the member. No member shall be expelled without first having an opportunity of appearing before the management committee and answering the complaints made against the member, nor at least two-thirds of the management committee then present vote in favour of expulsion. No member whose membership is terminated under these rules shall be introduced by any member as a visitor to any part of the Club premises. The member so expelled shall forfeit all rights to the property of the club.
    6. All members shall be considered as continuing as such until they have signified to the contrary to the secretary in writing, or have been expelled in accordance with rule B5.
  3. SUBSCRIPTIONS
    1. The annual subscription shall be £45.00. For persons in full time education it shall be £20.00. For persons eligible to play for the youth teams it shall be £10.00.
    2. Subscriptions shall be due on the first official day of the season, and shall be paid to the Treasurer who shall issue an official receipt. Such subscriptions shall be paid in full by May 25th at the latest. Members in default shall pay a surcharge of £5.00, and shall not be deemed eligible for selection until the full subscription plus any surcharge is paid.
    3. In the case of new members, subscriptions shall be paid in full on joining and such members shall not be eligible for selection until the full subscription has been paid. A new member joining late in the season may be eligible for a reduced subscription for that season only, subject to the discretion of the Selection Committee on the Advice of the Club Chairman. Any subscription so amended will be reported to the next following Management Committee Meeting.
  4. MATCH FEES
    1. Persons playing for the 1st, 2nd, A or B teams shall pay £1.50 per game; Youth team players playing in these teams will pay £1.30 per game.
    2. Persons playing for the Sunday 1st and 2nd teams shall pay £1.50 per game; Youth team players playing in these teams will pay £1.30 per game.
    3. Youth team players playing in youth team games will pay £1.00 per game.
  5. ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING (AGM)
    1. That a General Meeting of the Club shall be held annually in the month of November, with full powers to take any necessary actions that are considered to be in the best interest of the club.
    2. The audited accounts of the past year will be presented and approved at the AGM.
    3. The following officers of the club will be elected at the AGM: The Patron, President (unless they be a life President), Chairman, Vice Chairman, Captains, Vice Captains, Officers, Auditors and Committee Members.
    4. Nominations for Officers of the Club shall be submitted to the Secretary in writing at least fourteen days before the AGM, and that such Nominations must have the consent of the nominee and be seconded. Unless Officers for the preceding season signify to the contrary their names will appear on the agenda of the AGM together with other nominations. When only one nomination is offered at the AGM a ballot will be conducted and the nominee will need a simple majority of members present to be elected.
    5. The Management Committee shall meet at least fourteen days before the AGM.
    6. No change to the club constitution can be proposed without fourteen days notice being given in writing to the secretary prior to the AGM (Annual General Meeting) or EGM (Extraordinary General Meeting.) Such changes shall have a proposer and seconder, shall only be considered at an AGM or EGM and shall appear on the agenda of the meeting. All members may attend an AGM or EGM, only elected members, vice-presidents and playing members shall have voting rights.
  6. EXTRAORDINARY GENERAL MEETING (EGM)
    1. A special general meeting (EGM) of the club shall be called at any time by the Secretary on a requisition in writing of five members; such meetings to have full powers to take any necessary actions that are considered to be in the best interest of the club.
  7. DISSOLUTION OF THE CLUB
    1. If the Management Committee decides that it is necessary or advisable to dissolve the Club it shall call a meeting of all members of the Club, of which not less than 21 days notice (stating the terms of the resolution to be proposed) shall be given. If the proposal is confirmed by a two-thirds majority of those present and voting the Management Committee shall have the power to realise any assets held by or on behalf of the Club. Any assets remaining after the satisfaction of any proper debts and liabilities shall be given or transferred to such other charitable institution or institutions having objects similar to the objects of the Club as the members of the Club may determine or failing that shall be applied for some other charitable purpose.
  8. SELECTION COMMITTEE
    1. The Selection Committee shall consist of the Chairman, Secretary or team Secretary, captains and elected members to a maximum of 10 members of the Club.
    2. The Selection Committee will meet on the Club Ground each Tuesday at an appropriate time. In the event of a selector being unable to attend, the Management Committee shall have appointed a list of deputies from which to fill the vacancy.
  9. PRACTICE
    1. The recognised practice evenings shall be Tuesdays and Fridays. Tuesdays shall also be youth practice night.
    2. No visitor shall be introduced more than twice, unless he be proposed as a member.
